The U.S. News & World Report is one of the world’s biggest ranking systems for colleges and universities. Each ranking consists of information for students, ranging from graduation rate to freshmen retention. In its most recent census, ten Lehigh Valley and other local universities made it on the list of the 2019 Best Colleges & Universities. They fared pretty well when compared to the nearly 2000 other schools and colleges in the ranks.

Here are the ten universities that made it on the list:

Cedar Crest College

This Allentown-based college franked impressively in the report. Not only did it rank 6th on the Regional College North List, but it was also second-best in value and second best for veterans.

East Stroudsburg University

While East Stroudsburg University did manage to make it on the list of 1800 universities, its reputations of students having incredibly high student loans kept it lower in the ranks.

Centenary University

The Hackettstown university managed to stand its ground and get a remarkable rank of 135 as part of the Regional Universities North List, being one of the few universities in Pennsylvania to go above 150.

Kutztown University

This lesser known university in Kutztown, regardless of its popularity, managed to secure a rank of 126 on the list of Regional Universities in the North.

DeSales University

With an amazing Business Management and Marketing major, as well as an impressive teacher to student ratio of 1:13, the university scored an outstanding 64th rank on the list of Regional Universities North.

Moravian College

The Moravian College in Bethlehem managed to score a position of 165 amongst other national Liberal Arts colleges and universities.

Muhlenberg College

Another college from Allentown, the Muhlenberg College received a distinction as an A+ school for students and was 71 on the best National Liberal Arts College list.

Lafayette College

Lafayette College received multiple distinctions while securing a rank of 36 on the list of Best National Liberal Arts colleges. The college also achieved a 12th position on the list for best colleges with good engineering programs, up to masters or bachelors.

Penn State University

Penn State University’s Main Campus was able to gather a multitude of ranks throughout the list. Along with its recognition for a large number of international undergraduate students (12%) and an A+ school for B students, the university placed 14th of Public National universities and 52nd overall in national universities.

Lehigh University

Lehigh University managed to make it to number 46 of top 50 national schools. There was only a slight decrease from last year’s number 44. It is also 28th in best value, in the same category. This is a major improvement from the otherwise 38th last year.
