Excellent Outings in Bucks County

Whether you are spending the day in Bucks County, or have lived here for years, check out these four family-friendly outings in Bucks County.

Buckingham Valley Vineyards and Winery

Buckingham, PA

In business for more than five decades, Buckingham Valley Vineyards and Winery was the first winery in Bucks County, and among the first in the entire state. To this day they remain one of the largest wineries by area, and offer a wide range of varietals, from deep reds to crisp whites and sweet rose. They offer a self-guided tour of the premises, alongside guided wine-tastings, in a pristine pastoral setting, and if you are a wine lover, Buckingham Valley Winery and Vineyards is a must-see destination.

Bucks County Children's Museum

New Hope, PA

If you are entertaining some little ones in Bucks County, the Bucks County Children's Museum is a fantastic way to spend a day- or two. Kids can dig for artifacts and ancient treasures in the archaeology exhibit, build lightning-fast race cars on their indoor track, and perform all sorts of fun and educational experiments in the museum, or at the day camp offered for kids of all ages.

The Pearl S. Buck House

Perkasie, PA

If you are a lover of history or culture, take a visit to The Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie. Sitting upon this 68-acre property is the 1800s-built farmhouse where Pearl S. Buck, the esteemed author, used to live. The home is considered an official national landmark, and visitors are able to tour the grounds or receive a guided talk by a variety of speakers. Check the website for more details about specific talks and lectures that are scheduled at the estate.

Stumpy's Hatchet House Buck County

Bristol, PA

Have you been searching for something to do other than the traditional dinner and drinks? Look no further, because Stumpy's Hatchet House Buck County is as out there as it gets. Billing themselves as an "alternative form of recreation," Stumpy's gives visitors the ability to toss sharp axes at timber logs and targets on different lanes, similar to a bowling alley. Come as you are, or with a group, Stumpy's Hatchet House is set up to accommodate groups of up to 40 people.
